This week in writing we will finish presenting our Author Reports. Students will loose 20 of their presentation points for every day that their Author Report is late. This was due last Friday, but many students still have not finished this. Students should complete the rest of this at home now. After presentations, we will be starting our Imaginative Unit. Students will be writing a story from their imagination based on the Harris Burdick pictures we look at in class. This week we will do our pre-write and start our rough draft. This will be a simple 5 paragraph story due next Friday. It will not HAVE to be typed, but it can if students want to.
This week in math we will be learning how to measure angles. We will learn that angles rotate around a circle. Angles are all part of a circle that is 360 degrees. We will learn how to identify angles that are fractions of a circle, how to use a protractor, and begin to learn how to join and separate angles. In Target Time we will be reviewing Mixed Numbers.
This week in social studies we will be continuing to talk about what life was like for pioneers in Utah. Then we will discuss other immigrants who moved to Utah from different places around the world.
