This week in writing we will be finishing our Porquois stories. Students should be finishing their storyboard/draft this week in class, editing and revising it, and then starting their book. This is such a fun project for students! We will be reading our books to the class on Monday, May 2nd. We will also be reviewing the language concepts students are still struggling with.
This week in math we are also reviewing. Homework this week will be a little different. I have identified 4 of the lowest concepts for each student and I have assigned them homework pages based on that. So homework this week will be very individualized. Students should be bringing home a strip that says their 4 sheets on Monday. They should be ripping out from their book those 4 sheets on Monday and they have until Friday to complete them all. Since these are each a low area for your student specifically, please, please take this opportunity to help your student with these 4 concepts! This is also for you to know what your student really needs help with so you can better prepare your student for the end of the year test. Hopefully this will be a great opportunity for students to better learn and practice the concepts they are still struggling with this year!
This week in social studies we will finish talking about economics by discussing jobs and workers in Utah. We will then discuss the role of citizens and the role of the government in the State of Utah. We will also learn a little about different elected offices in Utah.
