April 13-17th

This week in reading we are finishing our Review Assessments. We will be focusing on assessments that ask questions about fictional texts. These are reviewing things that we have talked about all year long and are meant to give me information about what we still need to go over. Our spelling sort is Sort 54 with Homographs. These are words that are written the same but mean different things and are said a little different. Words that have the first half bolded are nouns like a present you get for your birthday. Words that have the second half bolded are verbs like present where you present your report to the class. Students still need to do the normal 20 points worth of homework.

This week in writing we will be finishing our Animal Reports. They are due on this Friday. We will be typing our reports on Google Docs. Students need to share these with me so we can put them on our Class Blog. On Friday we will present them to the class on the blog and write comments on the blog about the reports.

This week in math we are taking Review Assessments as well. These are reviewing all that we have learned in math so far as well as the last thing we will be learning. Then, we will go through our last unit. We will learn how to multiply fractions by a whole number. We will learn that this is just adding multiple fractions together. In Target Time we will be reviewing long division.

This week in social studies we will be finishing our communities that we are drawing. We will also talk about what supply and demand are. Then, we will begin learning about economics, what they are and the economics in Utah. Also, don't forget that the Native American Homes Project is due next week on Monday April 20th for my class Tuesday April 21st for Miss Goldsborough's class.
